DUAL ENROLLMENT

Ready to get signed up for dual enrollment?
Follow these steps:
- Research, select, and apply to the dual enrollment school(s) of your choice
- Create a GAFUTRES/complete funding application parent agreement
- Submit your documents to the RICS counseling team prior to March 31st
- Sign up for required ACT/SAT or college Accuplacer
Dual Enrollment is for students at eligible high schools that wish to take college level coursework for credit towards both high school and college graduation requirements.
Eligible students include:
- Students attending public or private high schools in Georgia.
- Must meet citizenship and Georgia residency requirements.
- Meet admissions requirements at postsecondary institution.
- Meet high school requirements specific to Fulton County.
- Students must be on track for graduation and in good standing academically.
- Students must be able to adhere to all policies specifically stated in the FCS contract.
- Must not have already received a high school diploma.
- Entering or enrolled in 10th grade: may enroll in a CTAE course at a technical college ONLY OR with SAT (1200) or ACT (26) score that meets the requirements of the Zell Miller Scholarship (may enroll in any approved courses listed on the Course Directory at a TCSG, USG, or private eligible participating postsecondary institution)
Additionally:
- Dual enrollment funding is limited to 30 credit hours or 45 quarter hours. This is the equivalent of 10 courses.
- After funding is exhausted all additional classes will be self-pay courses and may be listed as such on your transcript.
- The college does not pay for students to retake classes previously failed in the dual enrollment program except under extenuating circumstances as determined by the Student Finance Commission. Retake classes will be billed to the school as self-pay.
- After a student withdraws from two dual enrollment courses, they are no longer eligible to participate in dual enrollment.
